On Saturday May 8th the first of 4 BC Summer games qualifier was run on the Big Pine BMX track in Kamloops. Alex Milnes took the win with Eric Simmons, Spencer Schmidt and Charlie Berard in tow. With 3 more events to go in Abbotsford, Surrey and North Vancouver Alex is leading the points.
1st – Alex Milnes (Zone 2) – 300 pts
2nd – Eric Simmons (Zone 2) – 280 pts
3rd – Spencer Schmidt (Zone 2) – 260 pts
4th Charlie Berard (Zone 3) – 250 pts
How to QUALIFY: The top male and female athletes per zone plus 16 wildcard card athletes (10 male and 6 female) between the age of 12-16 years (AGE AS OF DEC 31st, 2010) will be selected to represent their zone at the BC Summer Games in Langley (July 22-25th).
Selection: The best 2 scores of 4 will count toward rankings for selection. In the event of a tie selection will go to the athlete with the better finish at the last head-to-head competition between tied athletes. The best athlete per zone will be selected and then the next 6 females and 10 males in order.
QUALIFIER EVENT INFORMATION:
Purpose: to qualify the top male and females in each zone, plus 16 wildcard card spots (10 male and 6 female).
Eligibility: Males and females 12, 13, 14, 15 or 16 years of age as of December 31, 2010. Athletes that have previously attended BC Summer games in the sport of cycling are not eligible to attend a second games.

May 8th – Big pine BMX, Kamloops, BC (Zone 2)
May 21st – Abbotsford, Abbotsford, BC (Zone 3)
June 5th – Action BMX, Surrey, BC (Zone 3/4)
June 6th – North Shore BMX, North Vancouver, BC (Zone 5)
Scoring: Athletes will receive points based on finish from the following points table:
