BMX Racing

BMX Bicycle Moto Cross originated in the early 1970s when children began racing their bicycles on dirt tracks in southern California, drawing inspiration from the motocross superstars of the time. A BMX race moto (heat) hosts up to 8 racers of the same age and skill level. All riders leave the starting gate at the same time and race as fast as they can on a 350 metre track over dirt jumps, around banked corners, and other obstacles to the finish line.  The sport was an instant hit because it was low cost and easily accessible at self-built tracks close to home.

BMX typically showcases 3-4 motos per event i.e. qualifying rounds, quarter finals, semi-finals, and finals.  BMX is fun, exciting, and challenging but more importantly human-powered. The skills you learn in BMX can help you excel in various other cycling sports.
